Last year Indian attack on Pakistan made few things very clear to Pakistan, one of which was Chinese’s technology. Chinese technology was testiest for the first time in any war and proved its worth, both on group and in air.
Pakistan did realise that they needed a defence system to counter drones cheaply. Pakistani radar had the capability to shoot down drones and they did in key areas but those hits are costly. Hitting a 2000$ drone with 20,000$ missile is not worth it unless you are saving key areas.
Pakistan Deployed Chinese LD-2000 CIWS (Close-in Weapon System) to protect their airports and other important areas from drones and cruise missiles. LD-2000 can fire 5600 rounds per minute, which is helpful to counter low altitude targets like cruse missile and low flying drones.
