Editorial policy
How we decide what to publish, how we check it, and what we do when something turns out to be wrong.
Sourcing
Scholarships, local jobs, overseas jobs and visa information are compiled from official notifications, employer or institution announcements, government circulars, and licensed promoters where the category requires one. Where the source is a specific organisation, a university, a government commission, an employer, or a licensed promoter, that organisation is named on the listing itself, so a reader can trace any listing back to where it came from rather than taking our summary on trust.
Verification
Before publication, listings are checked for internal consistency (dates, fees, contact details) and, where possible, against the originating notice. Overseas employment listings in particular are checked against the common warning signs covered in our own guidance articles, such as unlicensed promoters, upfront fees for a guaranteed job, and advertisements that do not carry a genuine licence number.
News
Our news desk writes every story in its own words. We follow reporting published by Pakistani and international news organisations, including the state news agency, and we write our own account of what happened rather than reproducing anyone else’s text. Where a story carries a figure, a date or a quotation, it is the one the original reporting carried.
We add what a wire report does not: the three things a reader actually needs from a story, set out at the top, and a line explaining why it matters to someone in Pakistan. That is the reason to read a story here rather than anywhere else.
Stories are drafted with the help of automated tools and every one is read and approved by a person before it appears. Nothing publishes automatically. We do not carry opinion or editorial columns.
Where a story is later revised in a way that changes its substance, the article is updated and marked with an updated date. We do not silently rewrite a published story.
Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes, and we would rather be told than not. If you spot an error, a wrong date, an outdated deadline, a broken link, or a factual mistake, please use the contact form and choose “Report an error or correction.” We review corrections promptly and update the published page once one is confirmed.
Independence from advertising
Advertising, where it appears on this site, is visually separated from editorial content and clearly distinguishable from it. No payment, sponsorship or advertising relationship determines whether a listing or story is published, how it is written, or where it appears. Editorial and advertising decisions are made separately.
Language
Content is published in English, with Urdu and Roman Urdu available for a growing share of listings. A translation reflects the same underlying facts as the English version; it is not a separate, independently sourced version of the story.
