India’s women’s cricket team defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in their Group A match of the Women’s Asia Cup at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Pakistan batted first and collapsed dramatically, being dismissed for just 55 runs in 18.1 overs. Left-arm spinner Shree Charani was the standout performer, taking three wickets for seven runs from four overs. Pakistan began reasonably with Muneeba Ali scoring 13 and Shawaal Zulfiqar making 14, but the innings unraveled after that. Charani trapped Zulfiqar lbw and struck again in the same over when Gull Feroza was caught for a duck. Ayesha Zafar fell to Charani soon after, leaving Pakistan at 29-4. Other Indian bowlers also contributed significantly, with Prema Rawat claiming three wickets for nine runs and Deepti Sharma taking two for five. India’s chase was straightforward, reaching the target of 57 in just 8.4 overs with three wickets to spare. Harmanpreet Kaur remained unbeaten on 18 while Deepti Sharma contributed 12 not out, sealing victory with 68 balls remaining.
