Following the directive of Federal Minister for Power Division Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, the ministry has resolved nearly 11,700 net metering cases that were pending during the shift from net metering to net billing. The Power Division and related institutions have verified and cleared 11,695 applications that met all applicable rules and regulations. Pakistan Information Technology Company has begun direct outreach to affected consumers through SMS, WhatsApp and digital channels to provide updates on their applications, with an online status check available at nmverification.pitc.com.pk. The remaining 4,959 applications are undergoing verification against relevant records and guidelines. The ministry warned consumers against paying fees to agents or intermediaries, emphasizing that all legitimate matters would be resolved directly and transparently. Minister Leghari stated that the government would prioritize resolving public grievances without delay while ensuring that genuine consumers received their rights and the renewable energy sector continued to grow.
