Malaysia operates an online eVisa system for Pakistani passport holders travelling for tourism or business, applied for before departure rather than on arrival.

What it allows

A single entry, stay of up to 30 days, for tourism or business visits. It does not cover employment of any kind. Working on an eVisa is unlawful and risks deportation and a re-entry ban.

What the application needs

A passport valid for at least six months beyond arrival, a recent digital photograph, confirmed return flights, and evidence of accommodation and sufficient funds. The eVisa is issued by email as a PDF. Print it and carry it, since immigration at the border expects to see it.

At the border

An approved eVisa allows you to travel; it does not guarantee entry. Immigration officers make the final decision, so carry the same supporting documents you submitted online.

How to apply

  1. Apply online Submit the eVisa application with a scanned passport and a recent digital photo.
  2. Pay the fee Paid online at the time of application.
  3. Receive the eVisa by email Processing is usually a few working days. Print the PDF you are sent.
  4. Travel with the printed eVisa Present it with your passport at immigration on arrival.
Common reasons applications are refused
  • A passport valid for less than six months beyond the date of arrival
  • No evidence of a confirmed return flight or onward travel
  • A photograph that does not meet the technical requirements for the eVisa

Frequently asked questions

Can I apply without a bank statement?
No. Proof of funds is required for every applicant.
Is the eVisa the same as visa-free entry?
No. Some nationalities enter Malaysia visa-free; Pakistan is not among them, so the eVisa is the route that applies here.
