Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry inaugurated a monsoon tree plantation campaign at R Block of the Pak Secretariat on Sunday. The event was organised by Faizan Global Relief Foundation and focused on expanding Islamabad’s green cover during the monsoon season.
Chaudhry highlighted the importance of tree planting for environmental protection and stressed that collective efforts were needed to increase green spaces and ensure a healthier future for coming generations. He praised the foundation’s contributions through educational, welfare, and environmental improvement initiatives.
The minister noted that tree planting was strengthening Islamabad’s green corridor and remained a key priority for authorities. He said equal attention was being given to protecting and preserving existing trees alongside planting new ones. According to Chaudhry, the Capital Development Authority has planted more than 100,000 saplings across Islamabad so far this year.
Chaudhry called for continued cooperation between government bodies, civil society organisations, and the public to promote tree planting across the country and achieve lasting environmental benefits.
