Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar telephoned Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide on Sunday to express condolences on the death of King Harald V. Dar conveyed sympathies on behalf of Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister, and people, as well as personally. He also extended Pakistan’s sympathies to Norway’s Royal family and citizens.
The Foreign Office announced that Federal Communications Minister Abdul Aleem Khan has been designated by the Prime Minister to represent Pakistan at the king’s funeral procession scheduled for September 9 in Oslo.
During the call, both foreign ministers agreed to maintain close contact and expressed interest in meeting during sessions of the United Nations General Assembly.
