The nation observed its 61st Defence and Martyrs Day on Sunday with ceremonies including gun salutes and a change of guard at the mausoleum of Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi. Air Force cadets participated in the ceremony where Asghar Khan assumed guard duties at the site.
Both leaders issued messages praising the armed forces for their performance during the 1965 war and the recent four-day military conflict known as Marka-i-Haq. They described these events as proof of the professionalism and courage of the Pakistan Army Air Force and Navy.
