Secretary Housing Punjab Noorul Amin Mengal visited several locations along Nullah Lai on Monday to assess the current flood situation. He reviewed proposed measures designed to protect urban areas from risks associated with heavy monsoon rainfall.

Azizullah Khan, Managing Director of WASA Rawalpindi, briefed Mengal on ongoing monsoon response operations and drainage arrangements. He noted that 201 millimetres of rain fell in Rawalpindi in one day, causing rapid water flow in the catchment areas of Nullah Lai. Rainwater from Islamabad also contributed to the flooding.

Mengal directed authorities to create appropriate proposals for flood management and safety along Nullah Lai. He emphasized that protecting lives and property remains a top priority for the Punjab government during heavy rainfall events.
