An early thought for centuries was that human will go to the Moon and build mega cities there. Companies planed for it, movies were made and books were written. Companies like Space X and NASA are working on plans to have a permanent base on Moon.
This new study shows the limitations of water on lunar surface. Not only limited water can create problems for the companies that want to go to moon but also the challenge to generate enough power to run a city.
One estimate shows a billion tons water on the far side of the moon, it is not easy to recycle there, a calculation shows it would be enough for 2 years only for a city of 1 million people. It is really short period and one thought is that a city can take more time than that to be built.
