The Anti-Corruption Establishment arrested police sub-inspector Muhammad Muneer in Muzaffargarh on Sunday after he was caught accepting the bribe. Circle Officer Amar Yasir apprehended Muneer red-handed while he was receiving the money from the complainant. Marked currency notes were recovered from the officer at the scene. An anti-corruption official noted this was the second corruption arrest in the first week of September, following another public official’s detention on September 1. Legal proceedings have been initiated against Muneer, who faces trial for allegedly misusing his authority and pressuring the complainant to pay money to resolve his case.
