A new technology “ Drone-Mounted Quantum Magnetic Sensors” to detect submarines. Now japan is planing to develop their own technology by 2031 to hunt Chinese submarines.
This technology detects very small magnetic changes related to submerged vessels. This technology if mounted on a low cost drone that hovers over sea surface will detect threats quickly and the reduces cost. It uses it’s atomic properties to detect small magnetic changes.
The detection range of the technology is short but affective if used in chocking areas and narrow pathways. Large number of drones mounted with this tech can also solve this problem.
