Officials from the Pakistan Meteorological Department stated that the forecast covers Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Jhang and Okara. They expect these downpours to disrupt daily life and movement in the affected urban centers.
The division noted that water levels at Guddu Barrage are projected to reach low-flood marks. Moderate increases in flow were also predicted for the Indus, Jhelum, Chenab and Ravi rivers along with their tributaries. Urban flooding risks were also highlighted for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Gujrat and Gujranwala.
Data from the Water and Power Development Authority showed that the Tarbela reservoir is at its maximum conservation level while Mangla is 79 percent full. Various barrages recorded significant inflows and outflows as the monsoon spell continues.
