The Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his family on Monday on death of wife of former Prime Minister of Malaysia Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. A statement issued by the President House Media Wing confirmed that the President extended his sympathies to the people of Malaysia along with the family
President Zardari praised the late Dr Siti Hasmah for her distinguished service in medicine, public health and social welfare. He stated that her contributions would be remembered with respect.
She was amongst one of the 1st lady doctors for Malaysia in 1955. She served as medical officer across the country and was first female state medical officer appointed. The President also prayed to Allah Almighty to bless the departed soul and to give strength to her family to bear this loss.
