Heal Pakistan and the Kashmir Institute of International Relations held a Defence Day symposium in Islamabad on Saturday to pay tribute to the armed forces. The event brought together young scholars, legal experts and social activists to honour the nation’s martyrs and discuss security matters.

The symposium was held under the theme of sacrifice, valour and victory, and was chaired by Altaf Hussain Wani. Speakers stressed the importance of passing on values of patriotism and resilience to younger generations, and highlighted the role of the armed forces in both defence and humanitarian efforts.

Presentations traced the history of Pakistan’s military, including operations against terrorism. Speakers emphasised that national strength depends on unity, economic stability and addressing internal challenges such as poverty and illiteracy.

The event concluded with participants saluting the country’s martyrs and their families, and reaffirming the need for national cohesion and collective responsibility.
