Government of Oman offers Work Visa to foreigners and it is valid for 2 years from the date of stamp. This visa lets you stay in Oman for the mentioned period and you are allowed to have multiple entries. For this Visa either Government organization will have to invite the foreigner or a labor permit is required from the ministry of Manpower.

Requirements for the Visa:

Every Country has their own rules and regulations of issuing a Visa. Following are the requirements for the Oman Work Visa for any foreigner

1. Age limit is kept minimum to 21 years. Any candidate wish to get the Oman Work visa must not be below the age limit.
2. Sponsor body/Company needs to be a local Omani Citizen or the company must be registered in Oman. The sponsor is responsible to check all the irregularities and legal issues.
3. Gender mentioned in labor permit must be same as the applicant.
4. Labor permit occupation and visa applicant occupation can not differ. If applicant applied for general labor the permit can only be issued for the same occupation.

Documents need for Oman Work Visa:

Work Visa for an Arab must be typed in Arabic while for non-Arabs it must be in English. The Electronic Visa must be also be signed by the Employer or any other authorized signatory. Following are the documents that also be attached with visa that is of the type as mentioned above

• A valid passport copy of the applicant that has minimum 6 months validity.
• Two photographs of 6×4 cm
• A copy of every individual application along with labor permit issued by the Manpower ministry
• Original Medical certificate along with its copy must be attached. Attestation of the certificate from the Ministry of Health is must for countries like Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Philippine, Indonesia, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Syria and Nepal.
• Copy of approval from the relevant organization is must for occupations like medical, religious and teaches etc.
• A special requirement of Letter from the ministry of Manpower for Engineers is must.
• If a candidate wishes to change the employer or transfer the sponsor and has not yet completed two years of their last departure, they need a release letter from the previous employer that is approved by the Directorate General of Passports and Residence.
• If visa category is housemaid and country is Philippines, then special permit is need from the Embassy and attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Visa Fee:

Basic fee for the Oman Work Visa is 20 OMR/52USD. The labor clearance fee is between (140 – 310 OMR). Basic stamping will not be enough for the employee to enter Oman. An entry fee 5 OMR is also charged for initial entry permission. There are other fees related to visa categories issued.
