If you wish to travel to Oman, you must require a visa to enter the country. Be it for any purpose, a person must obtain visa (document) that allows the individual to enter and move legally in the Sultanate of Oman. In this post, i will introduce you to various kinds of Oman visa. These visas are regulated by the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

Additionally, citizens from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries—Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE can enjoy visa-free entry. For more details, please read below.

Types of Oman Visa:

Tourist Visa:

It is an unsponsored visa type. It is for those individuals who wish to visit and explore Oman’s cultural and natural attractions in holidays or vacations. It is a for short-term visits of up to 30 days. It is available as single-entry (10 or 30 days) or multiple-entry (valid for one year, with each stay up to 30 days).

Tourist Visa for GCC Residents:

This type of visa is for those individuals who live is GCC countries but are not nationals of GCC. So, if you have a valid GCC residence permit, who can obtain this visa for a single-entry and stay of up to 28 days, extendable by one week.

Employment Visa:

This visa is for individuals over age 21. It is sponsored by an Omani employer. The validity is for two years with multiple entries.

Family Residence Visa:

It is for spouses and children (under 21) of Oman residents. If you are working in Oman you can bring your family members and apply for their visas requiring sponsorship and certification from the Ministry of Interior.

Investor Resident Visa:

It is for foreigners who wish to invest in Oman. It is valid for six months with a two-year residence permit upon approval.

Student Resident Visa:

It is for students studying in Oman. This visa requires sponsorship by an educational institution.

Express/Business Visa:

It is for business professionals attending conferences or meetings. It is valid for 21 days, non-extendable.

Transit Visa:

It is for travelers who are transiting through Oman’s international airports for up to 72 hours.
